Jon’s longstanding association with Zarrow Pointe spans several years and includes multiple roles. He has served on the Zarrow Pointe Board of Directors for three years as treasurer and president elect and has served on the Zarrow Pointe Foundation Board for eight years. In addition to his role as President of the Board, Jon is also serving on the Board of Miller Hospice.
As President of the Zarrow Pointe Board of Directors, Jon plays a vital role in the advancement of the vision, mission and long-term goals. He views his service to Zarrow Pointe as an important contribution to the community that he takes very seriously. “I have great admiration for the leadership of our board and our CEO, Jim Jakubovitz. When my parents moved to Zarrow Pointe almost five years ago, it brought a deeply personal meaning to the work we do.”
Jon takes pride in his role as the Board President and views it as a serious commitment that he remains deeply invested in. “Any time you accept a role to ensure the health, well-being and comfort of people and the organization that provides it, you have taken on an enormous responsibility. I am an advocate for the Board for its very high level of expectation in everything that we do.”
He also believes that the continuity of a sizeable business such as Zarrow Pointe is highly dependent on good financial stewardship. “We have a responsibility to make sure we operate with sound financial principals and a clear vision for our future needs.”
As the Board President, Jon plays a vital role in recruiting and overseeing talent at the Board and Executive levels. “The talent makes an important contribution towards our continued success. It is therefore important that we listen to what our residents want, while staying competitive in the local market. To stay on the cutting edge of our industry, we must constantly explore new options including additional business lines and services.”
At the same time, he also believes that Zarrow Pointe has set a high benchmark for quality in a multitude of ways. “As a continuum of care community, our residents have the convenience to live on our campus and age in place. Our villas, apartments and health care center offer living arrangements to fit any need. Our Kaiser Health Center recently received the highest possible five-star rating from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and a zero-deficiency rating from the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Both ratings are a testament to the quality of care we provide. Many of our residents choose Zarrow Pointe to embrace the active lifestyle offered on our campus including the many opportunities for lifelong learning. We also own and operate Miller Hospice and provide palliative care to patients in Tulsa and surrounding areas. Most of our staff has been with us for many years and is serving our patients with a lot of compassion, dedication and care. All factors considered, I think we are doing a great job living up to our claim ‘Senior Living at its Finest.’”ZP
